Neha’s Story of Resilience and Support

Neha experienced immense hardship after the sudden passing of her husband. As the sole provider for her young daughter, who studies at Canossa Primary School, and her elderly father-in-law, Neha struggled to make ends meet. Without a stable source of income, she felt overwhelmed with uncertainty about her daughter’s future and their financial security.

Recognising her plight, the principal of Canossa Primary School introduced Neha to the Dev Kripa Mandal (DKM). There, she met the Director, who informed her about the Bal Sangopan Yojana—a government financial assistance program designed to support children of single parents.

Encouraged by the Director of DKM, Neha began the application process for the scheme. However, she faced an obstacle when the authorities required an income certificate from the Old Custom Office, a document she neither had nor knew how to obtain. Fortunately, DKM, with the guidance of CSA, assisted Neha in navigating the process, helping her secure the necessary certificate and complete her application.

With persistent follow-ups and support from the NGO, Neha’s application was finally approved. In November 2024, she received the first installment of an annual grant of ₹24,000 for her daughter’s education, ensuring that her schooling remained uninterrupted. This financial aid brought much-needed stability to their lives.

Thanks to the intervention of DKM and the Bal Sangopan Yojana, Neha not only secured her daughter’s education but also regained confidence in her ability to provide for her family. The timely support and guidance she received transformed her darkest days into a journey of hope and resilience, demonstrating how the right assistance can illuminate even the toughest paths.
