During the COVID-19 pandemic, children from Prakashnagar and Ramgad faced significant educational challenges, as they could not attend online school. Among them, six children in Std VI were particularly affected, struggling with their studies and attending school irregularly.
These six children experienced considerable difficulties with their academic performance. Their attendance was inconsistent, and they lacked the motivation and guidance to keep up with their studies.
Recognising the need for intervention, the children joined the Bal Sabha group, where they received valuable guidance from Dev Kripa Mandal (DKM) on the right to education, the importance of schooling, child rights, and good manners. The children began attending the weekly Bal Sabha meetings regularly, receiving continuous support and input from DKM and the CSA staff.
The impact of Bal Sabha was profound. These six children experienced remarkable improvements in their behaviour and academic commitment. They started attending school regularly and showed renewed interest in their studies. By June 2024, all six children successfully passed their SSC exams, with four of them scoring above 80%. DKM continued to support them by assisting with the process of filling out online forms for college admissions and providing career guidance.
On June 26th, during a Bal Sabha meeting, the Director of DKM recognised and celebrated these children’s achievements. Their success brought immense pride to themselves and their families and served as an inspiration for other children in the community. With the support and encouragement provided by Bal Sabha, these children were able to overcome their challenges and achieve academic success.
This story highlights the positive impact of Bal Sabha on children’s education and personal growth. The dedication and guidance provided by DKM and CSA staff played a crucial role in helping these children realise their potential, paving the way for a brighter future.
