On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti which falls on 2nd October 2021, the children belonging to the Bal Sabha facilitated by our partner organization from Manori, Mumbai District, presented a street play in five wards of their village and the local market.

Through the street plays the children highlighted the fact that we are the ones responsible for uncleanliness in and around the village. We don’t think twice before littering the area with garbage and plastic and if we continue this, we will suffer the consequences.

They urged the people to make use of the garbage bins provided by the municipality. They also expressed their opinion on Article 12 regarding cleanliness and asked the people to give it a serious thought.

The children themselves took the initiative to create street play and their confidence, speaking and acting skills were seen during their performance. Immediately after witnessing the street play, a member of the youth group of Manori Village requested the children to perform the same after the peace march which they gladly accepted.

The people from the wards appreciated the efforts taken by the children and have taken the initiative to keep their surroundings clean.
