Nugulshet Wadi, a village located in the Tala block of Raigad District, faced significant challenges with its Anganwadi, which was in a state of disrepair. The dilapidated building presented serious safety hazards for children, discouraging parents from sending their kids to the centre. The broken roof leaked during the rains, and the lack of proper windows made it difficult to maintain a hygienic and secure environment. This resulted in a fragmented community, with many residents feeling helpless and resigned to the poor condition of the Anganwadi.
Amidst this challenging scenario, one individual emerged with an unwavering commitment to change: the Wadi Prerika. Recognizing the need for collective action, she tirelessly worked to unite the community. Through numerous meetings and discussions, she emphasized the importance of a functional Anganwadi for the future of the children.
The Wadi Prerika led the initiative to draft an application for a new Anganwadi. Her persistent efforts included organizing community meetings, facilitating discussions, and rallying Wadi members to support the cause. She carefully guided the residents in writing formal applications and ensured that they were submitted to the relevant authorities.
Thanks to her relentless dedication and the unified efforts of the Wadi members, the application process began to gain momentum. The residents, recognizing the collective benefits of a new Anganwadi, rallied behind the Wadi Prerika’s leadership. After several rounds of applications, meetings with officials, and continuous follow-ups, their hard work paid off when the authorities approved the construction of a new Anganwadi for Nugulshet Wadi.
Today, Nugulshet Wadi boasts a new, well-equipped Anganwadi that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children. The new facility features a sturdy roof, proper windows, and essential amenities that ensure the health and safety of the children. The successful completion of this project has not only improved the physical infrastructure but has also fostered a renewed sense of community spirit and collaboration among the residents.
