Dear Friends,

We are in the midst of an unprecedented Global Pandemic due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak. The government authorities have rightly insisted on a complete Lockdown in order to contain the spread of the viral infection, and we are called to show great resolve and restraint by staying home. In these moments of safeguarding our families, we cannot ignore the vulnerable people around us, particularly the daily wage earners – like tribal and other migrant workers who have lost their livelihood, and in some cases their shelter too.

Centre for Social Action, through its network of partners across Raigad and in some parts of Mumbai, is working in tandem with the local police and health officials to help these vulnerable sections of our society.

In this scenario, I appeal to you to share from your fraught resources some amount for the benefit of those who have no resources at all to fall back on.

Your contributions will be used for the following:

• Providing essential supplies like food grains, pulses, oil, milk, onions, potatoes, etc.
• Providing protective gear like face-masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, soaps, Dettol, etc
• Sending water tankers to villages with water shortage to ensure regular washing / hygiene
• Financial aid to those who have lost their livelihoods so they can meet their regular expenses like house rent, electricity and phone bills, etc.
• Any other Covid-19 related eventualities that may arise in next few weeks
