The 1st block level forums for Chandrapur district under the project Maza- Maharashtra Maza Sahabhag was held in Pombhurna and Bhatala blocks on the 28th and 29th of May 2019 respectively. CSA team along with UNICEF consultant Ms. Rejani and 3 master trainers were present to make both these events a success.
The objective of this forum was to bring the children of various Bal Panchayats representing different gram panchayats together to meet, know, share and learn from each other. Also, emphasis was to teach children about the importance of knowing their rights and to take up leadership roles to initiate actions responsibly.
The schedule for both the days was:
- Introduction and getting to know each other through ice-breaker activities
- Children sharing their experiences, success stories
- Input sessions: (brief introduction about UNCRC, motivational stories of children around the world, training on leadership skills/qualities)
- Group games and activities emphasizing on child rights, team building and leadership were played.
Highlights:
On day 1 in Pombhurna block, 38 children from 27 (out of 31) Bal Sabhas Panchayats attended along with 16 preraks/prerikas. (Village Animators) On day 2 in Bhatala block, 25 children from 6 (out of 10) Bal Sabhas / Bal Panchayats attended along with 10 preraks/prerikas.
It was indeed a pleasant surprise to have the presence of the BDO officer Mr.Dhananjay Salve at both the block forums. He interacted with the children and congratulated them for being the change makers in their village. To motivate the children, he also recited his poems which were indeed inspiring. He not only encouraged children but also assured his co-operation and support in all their endeavours.
